First published to the world wide web in April 1995, The Cichlid Cellar was one of the first web sites dedicated solely to African cichlids that was made available for public viewing.  Many tropical fish web sites have sprung up on the World Wide Web in the past few years but The Cichlid Cellar is one of the few that remains dedicated to African cichlids. 

The mission of this site is simple - to make high-quality photos of African cichlids available so you can see just how beautiful these freshwater tropical fish called African cichlids really are.

This web site has been, and continues to be, dedicated to high quality photos of African cichlids.  You will find some of the best African cichlid photos on the World Wide Web on this site.  In your surfing, you may come across my photos many other places as well - some being used with permission and some without.  Unfortunately, many of these sites, reduce the size and resolution of the photos and they are not the high quality I like to maintain.  Because an attempt is made to keep the quality of the photos high, the resolution is larger and that may mean slower download time for the photos.  However, if you want to see how beautiful African cichlids really are, you will appreciate the higher resolution photos and won't mind the wait. 

I am a long time African cichlid hobbyist and all photos are of fish I have raised sometime in the past 30 years.  These are original, copyrighted photos of my fish.  I do not post photos taken by others on this site.
